We have been trying to figure out what the heck Weezer have been playing at after announcing their new album was called ‘Hurley’ that featured a picture of food-hording ‘Lost’ character Hugo “Hurley” Reyes on the cover. The whole Hurley gimmick has now gone next level after the band announced that they’ve designed a nine-item capsule collection for skate label Hurley. The collection will inevitably include the kind of indie-geek fare you’re accustomed to seeing on Rivers Cuomo and the rest of the Weezer guys that might make you look just like Buddy Holly. No comment on whether sweaters will be included in the line…

Angelic Canadian model Jessica Stam is taking apt measures to proves she’s more than just a pretty face by following in the footsteps of Kate Moss, Erin Wasson and more recently Irina Lazareanu by branching into fashion design. As we’ve said before, the transition from wearing clothes to designing them might not be such a stretch – when you’ve been exposed to the most talented designers, photographers, stylists, seamstresses, tailors, art directors and so forth, you’re bound to learn a thing or two about what makes a nice piece of clothing. And let’s face it: if Nicky Hilton can do it surely it’s not that hard right? Right?

For her design debut Stam has collaborated with designer, Rachel Roy, creating four different pieces including a gingham cardigan, a canvas belt, black skinny jeans, and a chain-linked bucket bag.

‘Sin City’ director Frank Miller was given the task of creating a tv commercial for Gucci’s new women’s fragrance Gucci Guilty.

The ad is set in a futuristic metropolis where monorails rule and stars Evan Rachel Wood – the face of the fragrance – with action star Chris Evans, who she daydreams about in a way that Marilyn Manson would find displeasing. The execution is the slick, fast-paced comic strip style straight out of ‘Sin City’ with a soundtrack by Friendly Fires.

Filmmaker Zoé Cassavetes comes from a filmmaking lineage of genius proportions – she’s the daughter of legendary director John Cassavetes and actress Gena Rowlands – and thus was born with a budding cinematic genius already coursing through her veins. Marc Jacobs recruited Cassavetes to make this lovely short film for the Louis Vuitton: Hide And Seek – a playful romp through London, through Hampstead Heath and beyond. It also stars one of Pedestrian’s favourite Aussie models, Julia Nobis, looking fabulously age appropriate for a change, just playing a game of hide and seek.

Mustaches can be scary for kids. My dad had had an epic late-Seventies mo (similar in shape and thickness to Gape Kaplan from the hit sitcom ‘Welcome Back Kotter’) but he had to shave it off because, as a baby, my sister was terrified of it and it almost stopped them from bonding in those crucial formative months. Luckily for the facially hirsute men of today, Sesame Street has gotten behind their cause – championing the mustache with the following educational video featuring Superbad actor Jonah Hill and a guy who’s no stranger to facial hair, Elmo.

Acclaimed video artist and film director Marco Brambilla has been a pivotal figure in turning his favoured medium into a recognised, celebrated art form.

His work “GHOST” is a study of model Natasha Poly, which is described by collaborating visual effects boutique Art Jail as: ‘An investigation into the obsessive behavior of the public eye and it’s lingering effects on those chased and caught by it. The piece utilizes multiple shots, all presented head-on, giving the audience an opportunity to experience the deconstruction of an icon as it strips the beauty out of fashion.’

Mesmerising and moving, this work uses a simple visual concept that still speaks volumes.

Rock duo VV and Hotel (aka Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince), have collaborated with French fashion brand Zadig and Voltaire in a shoot with Purple Magazine’s Olivier Zahm. Described as being one half “a pretty and cheeky brunette” – and the other as “a nonchalant and charismatic dandy”, The Kills feature in the brand’s latest ad campaign, which gives an intimate glimpse at the pair’s “rebellious, melancholic and playful aspects.”

If you look back through Pedestrian archives it’s pretty clear several staff members were ailed by Uffie Infatuation back in the earlier years. So great became the obsession that we were no longer able to actually remember what Uffie was famous for. She was just this outrageously cute, seldom dressed, occasionally pregnant French-HongKong-American we loved to love until we really needed to take a break.

Despite having been absent from our virtual pages in the last 12 months, she’s back and sexed up in the latest Diesel Capsule Collection Campaign. This collaborative effort between the singer and Diesel mirrors the sullen but oh so frenchy-chic look of Queen Uff and is generally pretty wearable: corsets de noir, cigarette pants, body-con dresses and leather.

The collection drops into Diesel store fronts this December. Do our eyes deceive us or is Uffie somehow defying the aging process?
