Angelic Canadian model Jessica Stam is taking apt measures to proves she’s more than just a pretty face by following in the footsteps of Kate Moss, Erin Wasson and more recently Irina Lazareanu by branching into fashion design. As we’ve said before, the transition from wearing clothes to designing them might not be such a stretch – when you’ve been exposed to the most talented designers, photographers, stylists, seamstresses, tailors, art directors and so forth, you’re bound to learn a thing or two about what makes a nice piece of clothing. And let’s face it: if Nicky Hilton can do it surely it’s not that hard right? Right?
For her design debut Stam has collaborated with designer, Rachel Roy, creating four different pieces including a gingham cardigan, a canvas belt, black skinny jeans, and a chain-linked bucket bag.
‘Sin City’ director Frank Miller was given the task of creating a tv commercial for Gucci’s new women’s fragrance Gucci Guilty.
The ad is set in a futuristic metropolis where monorails rule and stars Evan Rachel Wood – the face of the fragrance – with action star Chris Evans, who she daydreams about in a way that Marilyn Manson would find displeasing. The execution is the slick, fast-paced comic strip style straight out of ‘Sin City’ with a soundtrack by Friendly Fires.
